Our Plant Tree Initiative
We're excited about our collaboration with Ecologi on our plant tree initiative, which has been a huge success in offsetting the carbon footprint generated during shipping. With every purchase made on our website, we plant a tree with Ecologi, allowing our customers to contribute to our efforts to make a positive impact on the environment while choosing sustainable fashion.
Packaging
We use biodegradable packaging from certified businesses like Noissue and Grounded, made from recycled waste or biodegradable materials and safe for health and the planet. Our mailers break down within 90-180 days in compost and come with soil enhancers that return to the land as plant food.
Our latest launch SS'23
Our latest collection is a tribute to nature, featuring garments that pay homage to the origins of their materials and showcase the raw, unfiltered beauty of natural fabrics. From the very beginning, we have been committed to a plant-based approach, using responsible materials like lyocell, ecovero, and organic cotton to craft stunning pieces that are not only stylish, but also kind to the environment.
Our collective actions
As a fashion business, there are several actions that can be taken to reduce carbon footprints and be more sustainable in daily practices. First, using sustainable materials like organic cotton, linen, and hemp can reduce water and energy consumption. Second, implementing eco-friendly packaging made from recycled or compostable materials can reduce waste and pollution. Third, reducing transportation emissions by sourcing materials locally and using more efficient shipping methods. Fourth, supporting carbon offsetting programs like tree-planting initiatives can help neutralise the environmental impact of the business. Lastly, adopting circular business models that prioritise recycling, upcycling, and reusing materials can significantly reduce waste and promote sustainability.
You may wonder, what we can do as individuals?
As a conscious fashion buyer, there are numerous measures you can implement to minimise your carbon footprint and become a more responsible consumer. These steps encompass a wide range of activities, from purchasing items from sustainable and ethical brands that employ eco-friendly materials, to refraining from buying unnecessary items and selecting timeless pieces that can be worn for a longer period.
As a fashion buyer, there are several additional measures you can take to reduce your carbon footprint and become a more responsible consumer. Some of these actions include:
-
Buy second-hand clothing: Purchasing second-hand clothing reduces the demand for new clothes and helps to minimise the carbon emissions and resources required for production.
-
Rent clothing: Renting clothing is a great way to reduce waste and minimize the amount of clothing that ends up in landfills. It also allows you to wear a variety of different outfits without having to purchase new clothes.
-
Choose natural fibers: Natural fibers such as cotton, wool, and silk have a lower environmental impact than synthetic fibers. Additionally, they are biodegradable, which means they break down naturally and do not contribute to pollution.
-
Reduce packaging waste: When shopping online, choose retailers that use minimal packaging or packaging made from recycled materials. You can also request that the retailer doesn't include any unnecessary packaging in your shipment.
-
Support sustainable fashion initiatives: Supporting sustainable fashion initiatives and brands that prioritise sustainability and ethical practices can make a significant impact on the fashion industry's environmental footprint.
